After seeing so many health clinics get to the $100k mark and plateau, I wanted to help them grow to be more profitable. In Australia, the average Physical Therapist lasts 2-4 years in the industry. 2-4 Years… That’s the time it took you to learn your skill, and then you leave???
Whats going on? How can so many health professionals give up? I started interviewing them. And you know what I found?
The same issues pop up;
– “I worked hard, committed many hours and the money was just not there…”
– “I got so sick of my patients calling me all day and night and because it was my own business, I had to see them“
– “We grew really fast initially and then when I brought on staff, my business suffered. They were supposed to make me money but they ended up costing me…”
– “All day I would work, all night I would stress about work tomorrow. Rinse and repeat…”
– “It became too hard to find good staff that wouldn’t leave me after a year or two (when they finally were profitable…)”
– “I felt like I had to do everything in the business… My staff were asking me to change light bulbs… Like they didn’t know how or it wasn’t in their job description. Its a light bulb for crying out loud. And it was everything else…”
– “I risked everything to build this… My staff had no skin in the game. They didn’t care if the business went bust. They’d find work elsewhere…”
